Air varié sur un thème pour violon, piano et orchestre du Pirate de Bellini, opus 6

Among the manuscripts of Henry Vieuxtemps (1820-1881), there are many autograph manuscripts of published works. This particular example is a preliminary version of the piano part of a variation on a theme for violin, piano and orchestra from Pirate by Vincenzo Bellini. The piece is ten pages and is signed on the title page.

It is the first Vieuxtemps opus officially recognized by connoisseurs. The autograph manuscript had not previously been studied, but thanks to this acquisition, this version is now available for research.
