The collection of the Private Art Support Foundation Fund includes works by modern and contemporary artists. The creation of this fund, under the auspices of the King Baudouin Foundation, will prevent the dispersion of these collections and ensure their preservation for future generations.
The Private Art Support Foundation (Pasfoundation) was the idea of artist Piet Stockmans, and has as its aim to conserve, protect and promote the works of modern and contemporary artists. The works are exhibited in locations that are accessible to everyone, in both private and public institutions.
The collection’s mission is to acquire an important number of works of well-known Belgian artists, so as to constitute a significant sample of their output. The Foundation’s collection will thus comprise an ensemble of more specific collections, each built around a particular artist. The accent is on modern, post-modern and contemporary Belgian art of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Today, the collection includes works by Jacques Charlier, Hugo Duchateau, Paul Gees, Ado Hamelryck, Urbain Mulkers, Pieter Stockmans, Vincent Van Den Meersch and Willy De Sauter.
