From 29 September to Friday 30 November 2012, an exhibition is showing the omnipresence of water in the Liege region from the end of the Middle Ages, using documents coming principally from the State Archives in Liege: in the crafts and infrastructures of the River Meuse and its tributaries, the supply of water for public fountains, its industrial use for hydraulic power and the distribution of running water, but also problems of hygiene and public health and city transformations.
The exhibition takes place at the ING Opéra Bank in Liege and is organized by the Archives de l'État à Liège and the Centre Liégeois de Documentation Archivistique (CELIDA), in partnership with the Compagnie Intercommunale Liégeoise des Eaux (CILE) and the David-Constant Fund, managed by the King Baudouin Foundation.
