After last year’s special anniversary, the Heritage Fund’s latest acquisitions will once more be on show this year, a tradition we have maintained since 2007.
You will have the opportunity to admire some of the Belgian ceramic tiles from the Robert Pozzo Collection, which was generously donated to the King Baudouin Foundation. A reference collection that comprises no fewer than 9,000 pieces!
And did you know that Philippe Wolfers made numerous sketches for his jewellery and vases, in which the flower drawings are of exceptional quality? These plant studies are proof that the famous silversmith did not work from collections of models, but rather used nature itself as his real source of inspiration.
Another highlight of this year’s exhibits will be some of Edgar P. Jacobs’s original artwork from the mythical comic series Blake and Mortimer.
And finally, you can discover an impressive painting by Lancelot Volders. This work is unique because it provides precious testimony to the urban physiognomy of Brussels before it was bombarded by the troops of Louis XV in 1695. The patrician house represented is one of the rare documented examples of civil Renaissance and Baroque architecture in the Belgian capital.
We look forward with pleasure to welcoming you to the King Baudouin Stand (46a)!
