Het Fonds Belgische Stichting voor het auto-moto patrimonium levert op het Autosalon The Belgian Foundation for Automobile and Motorbike Heritage Fund is presenting its business card at the 2012 Salon de l’Auto in the form of a retrospective exhibition of 100 years of automobile history in Belgium.
The Salon de l’Auto (Car Fair), which takes place each year at the Heysel exhibition centre in Brussels, will be celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2012. To mark the occasion, the FFP (Belgian Foundation for Automobile and Motorbike Heritage Fund) is organizing an exhibition devoted to 110 years of automobile history in Belgium. This initiative has the aim of raising awareness among the public about preserving this heritage. Spread over some 1,000m², some amazing examples will illustrate each decade of our automobile history.
At the end of the 1970s a reference work was published about the very rich history of the Belgian automobile, but unfortunately the work has been unavailable for a number of years. Given the amount of interest in this subject, the Fund decided to re-publish the work, but extended and enriched with new information and iconography. In addition to all of the Belgian brands and products, the book also covers subjects such as automobile posters and Salons Automobiles.
