The René Carcan Fund has launched the fourth "René Carcan International Prize for Printmaking". Entry to the competition is open until 16 September 2019.
The René Carcan Fund, managed by the King Baudouin Foundation, aims to promote the art of engraving and printing. Together with the Espace René Carcan, the Fund is launching its fourth call for entries to the "René Carcan International Prize for Printmaking".
Entries are open to engravers and students of printmaking, of all nationalities and all ages, who use the following techniques: copperplate engraving, lithography, linocut, xylography, serigraphy and monotype.
Four prizes will be awarded:
The René Carcan International Grand Prix (€ 5000), awarded to the best artist selected by an international jury;
First Mention (€ 3000), awarded to the second-best artist selected by an international jury;
Second Mention (€ 2000), awarded to the third-best artist selected by an international jury;
The Public’s Prize, voted for by the general public on Internet.
The prize-giving ceremony will take place on 1 February, 2020, at the Bibliotheca Wittockiana during the preview of prizewinners’ work, which will then be on show until 23 February 2020.
