From 2004 to 2014, the Hubert Schoonbroodt Fund encouraged the restoration of listed classical organs. This support campaign enabled five owners to continue or complete a project to safeguard a remarkable old instrument.
For 2015, the Fund’s Management Committee has the objective of honouring talented young organists. The Fund has launched a call for projects from organists who are no older than 30 and aim to have an international career.
The laureate will be awarded the Hubert Schoonbroodt Prize, worth €4,500. The award ceremony will be organised as part of the 2015-2016 Bozar Music season. The prize-winner will be invited to play during the ceremony.
Candidates’ entries will be examined by an independent jury of international experts: (link pdf nota)
The Hubert Schoonbroodt Fund was created in memory of master organist Hubert Schoonbroodt, who worked tirelessly to safeguard and promote Belgium’s organ heritage.
