The Treasure of Oignies is once again a subject of great interest, including at international level, not least thanks to numerous projects supported by the King Baudouin Foundation. Dating back to the 13th century, the Treasure has also been the focus of various scientific studies as part of the CROMIOSS project, which received financial support from the Professor Jean-Jacques Comhaire Fund. The project to restore the mitres, supported by our Heritage Fund, has similarly evoked renewed interest in the Treasure.

The International Medieval Congress, organised by the University of Leeds (UK) from 1st to 4th July 2019, will this time be devoted entirely to all aspects of the Treasure of Oignies. Registration for papers to be presented at this international symposium is now open. If you would like to present a paper on a particular aspect of the Treasure of Oignies, or on a wider subject, please submit your proposal by e-mail (as an abstract of not more than 100 words) to Jan Vandeburie ([email protected]).

Presentations may be given in one of the principal European languages.
