Veritas suprema Lex

Godefroid Devreese (1861-1941) was one of the most important Belgian medal makers. His enormous production (of some 1000 medals) is of high quality and demonstrates his mastery of the art of medal-making. A talented portraitist, he was capable of infusing his portraits with great naturalism, whilst he could also imagine complex scenes with a masterly sense of perspective and composition. The Dupont Collection comprises 53 pieces made by Devreese.
