The Belgian Royal Library is organizing a midday concert to celebrate the music of Henry Vieuxtemps (1820-1881) on Friday, 12th October. Music lovers will be delighted to discover some of the scores acquired in 2011 by the King Baudouin Foundation’s Heritage Fund and entrusted to the Belgian Royal Library.
The Talweg Trio - pianist Juliana Steinbach, violinist Sébastien Surel and cellist Sébastien Walnier - will play works including the Trio sur l’ Africaine. The Library is also launching its virtual exhibition about this important Belgian composer, which will highlight the Vieuxtemps archives recently acquired by the Heritage Fund.
In order to complete the Vieuxtemps archives, the Abt Manoël de la Serna Fund has also acquired a number of the composer’s opera manuscripts.
