In mid-October 2013, the Grand Seminary of Bruges launched a project to finance the conservation of a rare bible. A truly unique example, this 15th century manuscript is annotated with biblical comments. It has been kept in its entirety (4 volumes) and with its original cover.
The Seminary was hoping to raise some 2,350 euros through donations in order to carry out urgently-needed restoration, but support for the project has exceeded every one of its expectations.
In fact, thanks to the success of the appeal and to numerous donors (over 100) the amount raised to date is 7,540 euros, more than 321% of the amount originally hoped for!
This immense generosity will enable the Grand Seminary of Bruges to conserve not just the first volume of the bible, but also the three others.
