« Our Congo » week-end From 8 to 11 November, the BELvue Museum is organising various activities on the theme of our exhibition Notre Congo. La propagande coloniale belge dévoilée. (Our Congo. Belgian colonial propaganda unveiled).
You can also participate in a number of related activities, which include guided visits, listening to sound archive material and tasting insects! The exhibition is on until 30 November and takes a new look at Belgian colonial propaganda through unique iconographic archives and audio-visual material of the time.
11 November To mark the centenary of the 1914-1918 war and two temporary exhibitions, Albert & Elisabeth. Le film de la vie d’un couple royal (Albert & Elisabeth. The film of a royal couple’s life) and Notre Congo. La propagande coloniale belge dévoilée (Our Congo. Belgian colonial propaganda unveiled), the BELvue Museum proposes different perspectives of World War I: firstly, looking at the role of the Congolese in the Great War, and secondly the end of the conflict in Belgium and the liberation of Brussels.
